Nile on the Nile

A glorious day, if an early start.
John took us straight to the place we had seen a male lion in the dark the night before. We were rewarded by seeing the whole pride, a male, two females and four cubs, 4 months and 1 month in age. And wonderfully watched them undisturbed for a good 20 minutes, before they wandered off into the bush.

Driving down to the delta, five crane flew overhead in formation. We saw more giraffe than we could count, buffalo taking mud baths, egrets on the back of buffalo, and then at least seven cranes strutting around, with a jackal running past them.

Sara W treated herself to a swim and tea at Paraa Lodge while the rest of us took the boat trip on the Nile to Murchison Falls. Fabulous: baby elephants, hippos galore, kingfishers, sea eagles on their nests while enjoying Nile Special - Nile on the Nile.

And then just at the side of the road on the way back a huge family of elephants, a final treat.

Back for even more trips to the excellent gift shop and our final supper.
A lovely end to our stay at Pakuma Lodge.
