The southern team was very pleased to leave the huge sprawling capital of Kampala with its traffic and pollution and head south-west on the excellent road to Mbarara. About half way along our journey we crossed into the Southern Hemisphere and stopped for the obligatory photo astride the equator.

Just off the main highway we caught site of zebra (Grévy's if you really want to know).

Just past Mbarara and a kilometre up a steep track through a banana plantation we arrived in an oasis of calm at the Nyore Hillside Retreat which is Chris' favourite hotel in Uganda: easy for the team to agree with this assessment!
A lovely location to host Bishop Sheldon and Alice Mwesigwa for dinner. James had hosted both of them in Pucklechurch in 2011 so wonderful to catch up again after so long and hear more about Ankole Diocese. The evening ended with a thoughtful reflection from Rev Chris (Evans). A memorable evening for team.
BTW Rev Chris is not to be confused with Uganda's pop star with his nationwide concert tour.
