Education, education, education!

A bit of a catch up this morning from Janet Lee in Northern Uganda.

Today Tuesday the Northern team spent time visiting 3 different educational establishments.There are 9 of us, all feeling fit and well again First a visit to Bishop Jani Luwum theological college where we were warmly welcomed by staff and many lay readers in training. We presented gifts of various NIV bibles brought from Christ Church Clifton, all hidden in our suitcases which are much lighter now .We also gave them lots of commentaries donated by Ali's husband Phillip Rowe. They will go into the brand new library just constructed in 3 months with money from S Korea.

Secondly a tour around Archbishop Janani Luwum vocational centre where a huge range of skills are being taught from sewing to welding, catering to beauty Gaye,Sara and Michael were measured up for dresses and a shirt

Thirdly a trip to Gulu High school to see and chat with various sponsored children, some by St Peter's Henleaze and some South Sudanese refugee children by All Saints Clifton. Michael and Janet naturally found the geography teacher and searched the school library for geographical books! Finally we all ended up at the Bishop's house for a meal with our host families too It was great to see former bishop Johnson there too We enjoyed our time there and the chance to speak with Bishop Godfrey Loum.
